Bair Art Edition's Tutorial on: Adjusting Color & Exposure In Adobe Photoshop
How to Separate Areas In Photoshop
Separating out items and areas, such as the foreground of an image, allows you to make any of these color/exposure adjustments selectively, without changing the entire image. Recall that you can also paint color casts and dodge & burn selectively, in very defined areas.
But as far as selecting out entire areas, this module will equip you with the tools to do so.
These are the sections of this module:
- Magic Wand Tricks - A common tool and technique, but you could learn something.
-
Making Layer Masks - Quick masks, selection masks, custom adjustment layer masks, inverse masks, etc.
- New Layers From Selections - How to make the separation a new layer, quickly and effectively, how to mask the edges, etc.
- Grouping Layers - How to group adjustment layers so they only affect one layer, and not all layers below it.
